New York National Boat Show 2002 comes to port
with the "Stinger" (pictured previous page (top).
The watercraft, an "original creation", was designed,
developed, and built entirely by twenty three product
industrial design students at the Savannah College
of Art and Design. The Stinger also took the 2001
Award for Composite Excellence. The full-scale 21
footer is a working prototype that offers fresh
approaches and innovative solutions to test the limits
of learning, technology, and imagination. As you can
see its design is like a slipper on the sea.

Also featured on the previous page is the Winner of
The 2002 Design & Engineering Award by Popular
Mechanics magazine and named "Best of What's
New" by Popular Science magazine, the YAMAHA
Waverunner FX140. To date, it is the world's first
four-stroke personal watercraft. Which means not
only is the ride smoother and more powerful, but it
also translates to less exhaust emissions and less
noise. You might call that ... "water friendly."

Of course, no Boat Show would be
complete without Grady White. No,
it is not a person we are looking for.
It is "The Grady-White." We are
talking about the Boat. If you ever
ask which boat is a dependable boat
you will hear it said again, "Grady-
White." Stories upon stories are told
of the boats that didn't make it in from
the storm. But this one always brought
the people home. Featured above is
the Chase 273 Center Console model.
