Founder's Intro ...
SEASONAL FUN
Spring usually is the beginning of a new beat.
A fresh start. Cold weather country turns warm.
New ideas just seem to come off the top of your
head. The sun gets bright. The beaches are
calling you. And you know Summer is on its
way. The search is on for the things that will
make your Life better. Spring has a reputation
for bringing people together. Kindling new
relationships. Finding new love. And sharing.
Well -- the master designer of hip fashion, funky
shoes, and cool accessories Steve Madden
along with a band of gyspies launched their own
search. And maybe it is for someone you know
that they are looking. Normally something like
this would be found in our "Sounds and Scenes"
department. But Spring has Sprung. Music
makes for more fun.
Although, this time it is not the music that is
the focus. It is the search for something new.
The band of gypsies with Steve Madden are
none other than Atlantic Records, Conde Nast
Glamour Magazine, and Sam Goody Music
Stores. What are they in search of ? Ladies !

Not just any ladies. Ladies with talent. These
people have come together to give the ladies
a chance to be "The Next Hot Female Band."
Online at www.SteveMadden.com -- you can
get entry forms. The seach "Rock n' Sole" is
for three female finalists who write and perform
their own music. The solo artists or band who
as "the chosen ones" shall receive a demo
recording deal with Atlantic Records and a
wardrobe from Steve Madden. But wait, that's
not all ! The finalists will be flown to New York
City where they will stay as honorary guests at
the famed Plaza Hotel (talk about "dreams
come true"). As a side note (pardon the pun),
if you do visit the Plaza Hotel stop in at their
"Palm Court" and have a cup of tea. The
environment you will find will be an experience
you will always remember ! "We hope the
success of the search and of the band chosen
will inspire
young women to pursue their goals in any field that
will bring them fulfillment and satisfaction" is what
Steve had to say. And this is Totally Cool (r) !
Steve Madden launched the Spring search with
"Picture Perfect" Atlantic Recording artist Angela
Via. Entry forms can also be found in nearly 2000
retail stores across America including Steve Madden
stores, Journeys, Dillard's, Nordstrom, and Sam
Goody. With the Rock n' Sole campaign Altantic
Records has prepared a special Rock n' Sole
compilation CD featuring six tracks from: Angela
Via, Ashley Ballard, Bif Naked, Catatonia, Beth Hart,
and M2M. You all who pick up a new album from
anyone of these artists will receive the compilation
CD for Free ! Free !!! The compilation will also
be available as a gift with any shoe purchase at
Journeys, Dillard's, Nordstrom, and Steve Madden.
This grand four opens the door with opportunity galore.
So a big thank you to them all: Steve Madden, Atlantic
Recording, Sam Goody, and Glamour Magazine. We
love people who do good work. In a quick mention
for Glamour
-- you know, women of all sizes and
shapes struggle with what to do about a bathing suit
every summer season. If you are one of these ladies
or know someone with those concerns get an issue of
the May 2000 edition of Glamour Magazine. It features
a section on Bathing Suits that is priceless to those
in search of the perfect look. Keep lookin' . Keep
lookin' good --
Totally Cool (r) ! ! !
