One of the great things about this area and the lakes
in the region is that you can set up camp in many
different types of campsites both near the water and in the forest, on islands and on country farms. And best of all they are not as crowded as most resorts. Back to a lovely buffet lunch. Gloriously fresh
Dutch cheeses and cold cuts at Restaurant t'Vonder.
After lunch maybe ride in a gondola type boat that
you might have to help make go. The cycling tour
continues. Over tiny wooden bridges and past more beautiful little houses. In Giethoom to Blokziji ...some eighteen miles through the countryside is the cafe
at Blokzijl's lovely marina in a charming town on the
edge of the former Zllider Zee. Cross by boat ferry and back to the Steenwijk railway station to Zwolle.
You may want to spend another night on this mystical
journey in Zwolle at the Hotel Gril Campanile and dine at another excellent restaurant. Het Pestengasthuys. And -- experience a massive working warm fireplace. |
