What's To Say
A little F.Y.I. --
Just wanted to let everyone know there is an email floating around that claims the four
major credit bureaus
in the U.S. will be allowed, starting July 1, to release your credit
info,
mailing addresses, phone numbers, etc., to anyone who requests it. This is inncorrect.
The fact is The Credit Bureaus, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act are allowed to release
your credit information to anyone who appears to be a legitimate business. The July 1st Law
allows Financial Institutions to share your personal information with 3rd Parties. So, you
must contact each of your individual Financial Institutions (Banks, Money Markets, etc)
and notify them that you do not want them releasing your personal information. The phone
number circulating in the email is for you to -opt out- of pre-approved offer lists. If you
would like to 'opt out' your info, you can call 888 567 8688.

European Union commissioners have announced
that: an agreement has been reached to adopt English
as the preferred language for European communications
rather than German, which was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's Government
conceded that English spelling had some room for
improvement and has accepted a five-year phased
plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish.

In the first year, the "s" will be used instead of the
soft "c". Sertainly, the sivil servants will resieve this
news with joy. Also, the hard "c" will be replaced with
"k". Not only will this klear up konfusion, typewriters
and komputers kan have one less letter. There will be
growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when
the troublesome "ph" will be replaced by "f". This will
make words like fotograf twenty persent shorter. In the
third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan
be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated
changes are possible. Goverments will enkourage the
removal of double letters, which have always ben a
deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the
horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgrasful,
and they will be removed. By the fourth year, peopl wil
be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and
"w" by "v". During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be
dropd from vords kontaining "ou", and similar changes
vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.
After ze fifz yer ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil
b no mor trubls or difikultis and evrivun vil find it esi to
understand ech ozer. Ze drem of a komon languag vil
finali kom tru. (kourtesy of Uncle Bil.)
